The
Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell is forging a path into uncharted
territory. Sure, other soloists have stepped out of their
popular groups to do side projects. Some have soared into
the upper stratosphere of pop music success, while others
have disappointedly failed to meet expectations. But this
confident, young man is doing something that has never been
done before. With the release of his solo CD, Welcome Home,
Brian is following a call placed in his heart as a young boy
and using his gargantuan platform to make a statement that
it's okay to stand strong for what you believe in. Even if
that thing you believe in is one of the most divisive issues
in the world. It's enough to make even the bravest guy think
twice. But not Brian. Stating that the other guys in the group
have been nothing but supportive, he also adds that stylistically,
his solo project will not stray too far from the sound that
made the group so popular.
"My record will sound a bit like the Backstreet Boys
because that's a big part of me and that's where I am musically.
It will also have a mixture of traditional gospel as well
as contemporary Christian music."
The first single from Welcome Home is its title track. “This
has been a dream of mine since I was a little boy singing
in church in Lexington, Kentucky,” said Littrell, who
grew up singing in various youth choirs at Port Memorial Baptist
Church. With Welcome Home, “I hope to encourage people
to stand up for what they believe.” |

I’ve
been a born-again Christian since I was eight years old and
I've known for a very long time that this has been my calling.
I hope to reach listeners in this arena and continue to let
Backstreet Boys fans know that it's okay to stand for what
you believe in. If I can do something that opens doors and
benefits lives in some way, I hope to be able to do that.

Recording
a solo project has enabled Brian to share his source of greatest
hope. Welcome Home is a straight-ahead pop record —
lyrically illuminating God’s unequivocal love for humanity
and revealing the possibilities for life when people dedicate
themselves to a higher calling.
The 38th Annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards were
hosted in April 2007 by Brian Littrell. Brian was honored
in 2006 with his first Dove Award for In

Welcome
Home: Brian Littrell
Some
Christian mainstream acts spend entire careers aiming for
crossover appeal. Call Brian Littrell a little different because
he is going against the grain. This Backstreet Boy has traded
— for a moment at least — international glitz
for a trip back home to his roots, spiritual roots that is,
with Welcome Home. It's a journey that clearly resonates strongly
with Littrell because he has released an album full of depth,
reflection, diversity, and celebration. Welcome Home reveals
Littrell's heart and plants a stake in the ground recognizing
his source of greatest hope. A straight-ahead pop record,
lyrically the project illuminates God's unequivocal love for
humanity and outlines the possibilities for life when people
dedicate themselves to a higher calling.

We live
in the age of low-rise jeans, belly-button rings, and backless
shirts. Many girls and young women today could not even define
the word modesty, let alone tell you how to live it out. But
Dannah Gresh has a new message for them: modesty itself is
a delicate yet formidable power.
